Anna Papadopoulou (b.1997) is a documentary photographer and filmmaker based in Athens.

Rooted in long-term observation and field research, her work explores the themes of identity, collective memory and belonging. With an academic background in history and social sciences, and an innate curiosity about the stories and living heritage people and communities embody, she approaches the world with critical awareness, while adding an intimate and poetic layer to it. Working across Greece, her imagery focuses on the way in which cultural identities survive, resist and redefine themselves, creating visual narratives that oscillate between the past and the present.

Her first short documentary film, Loutropolis, produced by Not A Project, explores the gentrification process taking place in the southern suburbs of Athens, through the intimate portrait of one of its oldest residents. The film received the support of the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center and will premiere at the 49th Drama International Short Film Festival.
